Stephanie Wallcraft, Managing Editor, RoadTripper.ca

Hi! I’m Stephanie Wallcraft. All my life, I’ve loved road trips and the cars that get us to the places we’re going. I’ve combined these interests by creating RoadTripper.ca, where I use the knowledge I’ve gained over more than a decade as a professional automotive journalist and road trip expert to share these passions with you.

My daughter and I have been road tripping together all across Canada since 2014. We’ve visited all 10 provinces and two territories discovering this country’s amazing scenic roads, national parks and national historic sites, beaches, campgrounds, vibrant cities, great restaurants, family-friendly attractions, nature experiences, and — most importantly — its wonderful people.

By browsing through these pages, we hope our adventures will inspire you to explore Canada by car and make road trip plans of your very own.

  • More than 10 years of experience as a professional automotive journalist and road trip travel expert
  • Named 2024 Canadian Automotive Journalist of the Year by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC); runner-up for the same title in 2022 and winner of 19 more awards in 11 years for work in topics such as adventure and travel writing, road safety, automotive environmental journalism, feature writing, business writing, technical topics, and more
  • Member of AJAC and Past President from 2019 to 2022 as the first woman nominated to the role
  • Member and Ontario Chapter Board member with the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC)
  • One of only two journalists to be accredited with both these prestigious media associations

As a professional journalist, the integrity of my work is extremely important to me and I strive to earn your trust. That’s why, in my capacity as Managing Editor of RoadTripper.ca, I make these commitments to you:

  • Everything at RoadTripper.ca has been created by a human. The vast majority of it is written and photographed by me. At times, other trusted creators will contribute content, and in rare cases we’ll use supplied images created by professional photographers or generated in software such as Canva. I will never risk breaching your trust by knowingly publishing generative AI content.
  • My opinion is not for sale. You will see that I sometimes engage in paid partnership or advertising arrangements with tourism associations and other businesses. However, it’s extremely important to me that the interests of you, the reader, always come first. I will never recommend anything to you that I would not use, visit, or engage in myself. When I write with enthusiasm, it’s always genuine.
